First Saturdays: Departing Dystopia by TSIMECA

Immerse yourself in the ultimate adventure on the first Saturday of every month. If you love sci-fi, post-apocalyptic fiction, dark fantasy and/or identity as rebel, outcast or misfit this is the experience you’ve been waiting for! The Departing Dystopia Saga invites guests to engage in elaborate storylines with a cast of original characters. Each adventure combines dramatic performances with digital art, multi-sensory design, and lyrical music to transport audiences to an alternate reality. It's the perfect opportunity to escape the confines of who you are in this reality. So go ahead…dress up…try on a new character persona. Go wild. Satisfy that inner child. Pretend to be the person you’ve always wanted to be!

WHAT IS DEPARTING DYSTOPIA?

Departing Dystopia is The Ultimate Live Action Role Play Adventure.

Each new event is like a new episode of your favorite post-apocalyptic dramedy series. Only instead of sitting on the couch and watching it on a screen, you and everyone else attending the event are literally a character in the story as it unfolds in real time!

The Departing Dystopia Saga takes cosplay and larping to a whole new level. Our live episodic events each take place in a real life place. Whether it’s a bar, nightclub, bathhouse, campground, strip club, parking structure, arena, or stadium, these places are reimagined as a way to depart our actual dystopia!


What does all this even mean? Basically, we take over real life places, create fictional backstories, then transform those places into veritable multi-sensory playgrounds.

Perhaps the most exciting thing about our Departing Dystopia Adventures is that we invite you to be the person you’ve always wanted to be. New recruits often just show up early in regular outfits because they’ve booked pre-episode “Second Reality Makeovers” from our talented theatrical costume, hair, and makeup artists.

The whole “Second Reality Character” creation process is highly interactive. From the moment you start to follow us and engage with us on Instagram. As a result, by the time you show up to the next live episode/event, you already feel like you’re a part of a new community. Oftentimes, we’ll even create a character for you before you even show up to your first adventure!

Thinking this sounds like only for meant eccentric drama nerds? Think again. Our events are attended by rebel misfits from all walks of life.

To create your character in our “Second Reality” we just need to get to know you a bit better first. Based on your social media presence and all of our interactions on Instagram, we’ll come up with a name, fictitious backstory, and AI assisted digital avatar for character. All of this will inspire not just a costume, but an actual alternate version of yourself. One who can safely take risks, explore, and even begin to heal from the trauma that made you mask who you really are from the rest of the world.

But wait…there’s more! Once each episode takes place, an alternate version of it can also take place somewhere else! Or there could even be a “Rerun” at the same place at a later date! Of course, no two live, immersive, interactive events like this could ever be exactly the same, but that’s what makes this all so fun. You never know which veteran characters or new characters will show up. The plot twists and alternate endings are virtually limitless!
